Marine and Inland Waters

In marine and inland waters, the JST investigates occurrences associated with the operation of a vessel or naval artifact, whether at sea, river or lake, pursuant to the provisions of the International Maritime Organization. Occurrences resulting in death or serious injuries to people, disappearance of a person on board, alleged disappearance or abandonment of a vessel or naval artifact, material damage or a vessel or naval artifact being aground, as well as damage to marine infrastructure not related to the vessel but caused by the vessel will be considered.
